Venice

Sunset on the Grand Canal. Anybody can be a good photographer here.

The four of us in the Piazza San Marco
The "Biennale" is a giant contemporary art fair held on odd years in Venice, and was one of the main reasons for coming. It lasts six months, and takes place all over the city, with exhibits sponsored by many countries.

The crowds in the streets have been insane, but they were particularly bad this afternoon because the Grand Canal was closed to Vaporettos to allow a rowing regatta. Here is a shot, taken from the balcony of our apartment, of a boat heading to the finish  line.
